I have had the honor of serving in ministry alongside with my husband both in Jamaica, West Indies, and the United States for over thirty years, before attending NSOBS. I have had the privilege of attending other Bible Institutes, but none to be compared with the spiritual impartation I have received at NSOBS. It has always been my desire to further my pursuit in Biblical studies to enrich my personal faith journey, and better equipped myself for the service of the Kingdom. I clearly identify with NSOBS theme verse in 2 Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” However, fulfilling desire to continue my studies at a Bible Seminary, appeared elusive due to family and ministry obligations.
At the time Dr. Soleyn, presented me with the opportunity of attending Nsoleyn Outreach Bible Seminary, I responding without hesitation, because my heart was ready. I had not doubt that this was the time for me to act on pursuing my dream. Most importantly, I have been in fellowship with Dr. Soleyn and knew the integrity of her ministry. Dr. Soleyn, pours into the Seminarians out of the depths of her experiences as a warrior in the army of Jesus Christ, her vast knowledge and insight into the Word, and her continuing work in Kingdom building. Being a student of NSOBS, under the tutelage of this awesome woman of God, is indeed an honor, and privilege.
In the Course ‘Healing of the Mind by – The Revealed Word of God,” I was greatly challenged to face and overcome my fear of being featured live on the media, whether it be radio, television, or the internet. I was forced to face my fears as a public speaker, and acknowledge the source of my fears. Dr. Neithe Solelyn, in her book, ‘Hit Hard Score High,’ 2013, states, “Every battle that you fight in the physical world must also be fought in your mind. Your mind determines the action you will take. The results of your actions come from what you give the mind.” Because we are tempted every day, I must be spiritually aware, and sensitive to what the enemy is doing, so I will not be entrapped by him. I have learnt that if I focus on my feelings, my thoughts, my limitations, I will succumb to a deceived mind, and eventually fail. Isaiah 26:3 (NIV) tells us, that God will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in Him. Our minds are healed from all evil and sinful thoughts when our thoughts are guided by God’s Word.
In this age of growing discontent, disregard for the Bible, and fear of God, it is critical that the Body of Christ stays equipped, on the alert, and positioned to ‘rightly divide’ the Word in season and out of season. The Body of Christ must respond to ‘The Great Commission’ given by our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20. There are many souls to be won for the kingdom. Jesus declared in Matthew 9:37-38, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest.” NSOBS challenges and equips its seminarians to answer the call.
